configuring PPPOE on windows XP

1. open My network places
2. Press View Network Connections 
3. click on Create a new connection
4. It opens a wizard for new connection
5. press Next
6. select Connect to internet --> Next
7. Select set up my connection manually --> Next
8. Connect using abroadband connection tat requires username and password -->Next
9. ISP name ex: BSNL -->Next
10. Enter username and password
11. Next ---> check the tab -->finish

Not able to access 192.168.1.1 on BSNL router?

Solution:

Best way to deal with this problem is to reset your modem...
Every modem has a reset button .. Try to find it and reset your modem and try to access 192.168.1.1 ... It works for sure.

bsnl wifi modem... problem with i phone wifi access in India

PROBLEM SOLVED FINALLY AND HAPPY TO PLACE IT ON MY FIRST BLOG

My problem:

I have a BSNL type II modem WA3002 -g1 UTStarcom. I can always connect  my iphone to my wifi network but cannot access the internet. I knew both my iphone and wifi modem are working right.
I have pppoe connection on my desktop which uses username and password.
My wifi works perfectly well on my laptop because I can create pppoe on my laptop.
But I dont have pppoe on my iphone and to access internet I need username and password.

Solution:

1. Type 192.168.1.1 on your browser. I hope you all can access it.
2. You will be prompted for username and password on the router which is (usually for bsnl modem)
    username: admin
    password: asmin
3. Go to Advanced setup
4. WAN
5. Edit the protocol with pppoe
6. Press next
7. Press next and select connection type i.e., PPP over Ehernet (pppoe)
8. Press next enter PPP username and  PPP password (This given by your ISP in my case BSNL)
9. Uncheck the manual connect tab
10.Save and exit

  try it... it worked for me...

P.S: IF U cannot access 192.168.1.1 then try to reset your modem. Every modem has a rest button mine has it at back corner near the blinking led.
